·Surrender
All my deeds
Scattered on a beach
Slowly worked by comings and goings
Back to the grains from which they were formed.
I gather fragments periodically
Reconstructing some edifice in memory;
It dissolves with the next inrush.
I take the debris and build
To see the form destroyed
Elements returned to source
Rising and falling
Until exhausted flesh no longer holds
And the tide is free to work magic
On my bones
